Comments on this week's selection of books?

In the light of the bicentenary of Charles Darwin's birth and the 150th anniversary of the publication of his book On The Origin of Species, an abundance of new books about both the life of the father of the theory of evolution and his work have been released this year. We have also selected three other books on the history of the relationship between Islam and Europe, another 'hot' topic. Our three books explore various aspects of the history of Western attitudes towards Islam, including how the European crusaders were perceived in the Muslim world and the relationshipo between Islam and Europe in medieval times.
